About Midtown

View Midtown home listings...

Midtown is all about location. Situated in between Downtown Houston and the Medical Center, residents of this newly renovated and upscale neighborhood never have to travel very far. Just a few miles South of Downtown and a quick METROrail ride from Minute Maid Park, the Museum District, or the Toyota Center, Midtown is truly located in the heart of the city. Known as Houston’s newest hotspot, Midtown is filled with popular restaurants, clubs, and bars that are all within walking distance of each other. The ability to hop from bar to bar makes it extremely popular amongst Houston’s young professionals and students attending the University of Houston, Texas Southern University, and Rice.

The neighborhood extends 300 city blocks, and has over 6,000 residents living in apartments, townhomes, lofts, and restored historical homes. While most people live in townhouses that range from the low 200,000’s to upper 400,000’s, there are plenty of Midtown apartments that lease for around $1,000 per month. If living in the middle of the action is important to you, Midtown should be at the very top of your list of potential neighborhoods.

Moving to Houston from another Texas city? Houston’s midtown area is similar to Deep Ellum in Dallas and Austin’s South Congress area.

Commute

Situated on the doorstep of Downtown, the commute from Midtown should only take a few minutes

Schools

School District: Houston Independent School District

Schools: Although Midtown is known as a great area for young single professionals, families in this area will send their children to schools in the Houston Independent School District.
