Located just north of Intercontinental Airport up I-45, The Woodlands is one of Houston's more affluent suburbs. Fifteen to twenty years ago, it was a developing area whose major draw was space and an escape from the city life. Today, however, the Houston Woodlands is a fully developed community that has all of the conveniences of the city within a minute drive.

As mentioned, the Woodlands is know for it's space, and as such, many of the homes have large square footage. In its developing years, the Woodlands offered an affordable way to have both home size and land, but over the years, the Woodlands has actually become one of the more expensive suburbs. More affordable suburbs would include Katy and Sugarland. House prices in certain areas of the Woodlands can easily exceed a million dollars for a four bedroom house.

The Woodlands boasts a beautiful green landscape with a number of great golf courses and plays host to an annual PGA Tour event. New shopping centers are going up every year, and a mini riverwalk-esque development has added to the community ambience. In addition, the Woodlands is home to the Cynthia Woods Pavilion which hosts Houston's best out door concerts...from rock music to symphonies.
