About Houston Heights

View Houston Heights home listings...

Just North of the eclectic Montrose district and minutes from Downtown, The Houston Heights is one of the city’s fastest growing neighborhoods. Located in the heart of inner loop, the Heights combine extremely short commute times with an abundance of outdoor and recreational activities. With 5 parks and numerous walking, jogging, and biking trails, residents of this up and coming neighborhood have more than enough incentive to enjoy the great outdoors.

As of 2007, the Houston Heights appear to be a great real estate investment for the future. Average homes prices (now in the mid $200,000’s) increased roughly 15% from 2006, and over 95% of the homes for sale will pull at least their asking price. Although residential real estate in The Heights tends to be somewhat older homes, new homes have been flooding the market, and new homes now outperforming the sale of existing homes. In addition to single family homes, there are also countless high rises and condos under construction to accommodate the tremendous population growth predicted for the years to come.

All things considered, The Heights is a great neighborhood for young professionals looking for a solid real estate investment inside the loop. While its proximity to Downtown and the Medical District are extremely desirable in a congested city like Houston, prices can still be quite affordable.

Moving from another Texas city? The Houston Heights area is similiar to Oak Cliff in Dallas.
