River Oaks is the most expensive neighborhood in Houston and is home to some of the largest mansions in all of Texas. Situated inside the 610 loop, less than 7 miles from downtown, residents of this affluent suburb have easy access to downtown, the medical center, and the Galleria area.

Known as one of the richest zip code in America, real estate even remotely close to River Oaks Boulevard comes with a hefty price tag. Although there are a few homes available in the million dollar range, most of Houston'a elite live in mansions worth well over 5 million with some homes selling for as much as 20 million. Much like Highland Park - the most expensive neighborhood in Dallas, River Oaks has everything a family could ask for – beautiful scenery, short commute times, large tree lined streets, and one of the best country clubs in the state.

For those with the means to purchase a home in the River Oaks area, be aware that real estate does not stay on the market very long, and many consumers are forced to wait years before finding a property.



Commute

Only 7 miles from the heart of the city, the River Oaks to downtown Houston commute shouldn't take more than 15 minutes. Residents are also just a few minutes away from the Texas Medical Center as well.
